Dr. Amin Sabzevari, DVM
I was born and grew up in Iran and obtained my DVM degree in 2010 from Azad University, Iran. I worked in an industrial dairy farm and at a pet clinic before and after graduation and this gave me the opportunity to develop a true feeling of the life of a veterinarian. I very enthusiastically took part in several clinical research projects on different species (hamsters, dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, sheep, ostriches, etc.) which not only led me to publish several articles in peer-reviewed journals but helped me to gain further experience in those specialty areas.
I moved to Canada in 2011 and my diverse background and knowledge base allowed me to begin working as a research assistant with laboratory animals at Toronto General Hospital.
In 2013, I traveled to India for 3 months and started volunteering at the International Humane Society which helped me fine tune my surgical skills. I also had the amazing opportunity to work with elephants there.
In 2014, I completed the VSTEP (Veterinary Skills Enhancement Program) at Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph.
I started working at Family Pet Hospital in September 2015 and I am delighted to work with great colleagues in a friendly environment.
I have a great passion for animals and empathy for their owners. I assure you that I will do my best to treat your family member with kindness and give my devoted attention to your concerns.
In my free time, I enjoy jogging, reading books, watching movies and I always love to travel and participate in outdoor activities.
